Meet the Founder
Hello, I’m Latunia (Tonya) Riley — founder of Riley Benefits Advisory, LLC and a dedicated advocate for helping individuals and organizations navigate the complexities of health benefits and insurance. With more than 30 years of experience in the health and welfare industry, I bring deep expertise, strategic insight, and a genuine commitment to guiding clients through every stage of their benefits journey.
My passion for this work is deeply personal. Over the years, I’ve supported employees from every background and income level, helping them understand their benefits and make confident decisions about their health coverage. But the heart of my commitment comes from the people closest to me — including my maternal and paternal grandmothers and my father — whom I personally guided through their post‑65 benefits and Medicare transitions. Walking alongside them showed me how overwhelming these decisions can feel, and how powerful it is when someone has a trusted advocate by their side.
Experience
The experiences that shaped my journey also shaped my mission: to make benefits simple, approachable, and empowering for everyone. This work matters to me because each conversation is an opportunity to offer clarity and reassurance during moments that often feel overwhelming.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported individuals—pre‑65 and Medicare‑eligible—as well as Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 organizations. I’ve guided small and large group health plan strategies, led negotiations for more than ten unions including OPEIU, UAW, and IBEW, and collaborated with HR and procurement teams to design and implement benefit programs that truly meet people’s needs.
No matter the client or the challenge, my commitment remains the same: thoughtful guidance, careful analysis, and unwavering professionalism. At Riley Benefits Advisory, LLC, every benefits decision is treated with the attention it deserves.
Education & Credentials
I hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration and psychology, along with a Master of Business Administration (MBA). My professional credentials include the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designations, as well as active candidacy for the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation through the Wharton School of Business.
I am also a licensed Health Insurance Agent in Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia, which allows me to support both employers and individuals—pre‑65 and Medicare‑eligible—with deep insight into their benefits needs, regulatory requirements, and coverage expectations.
Today
I currently serve full‑time as a Benefits Consultant for a Fortune 500 company and reside in the Milwaukee area. Riley Benefits Advisory, LLC reflects my commitment to providing knowledgeable, ethical, and client‑focused benefits guidance to both organizations and individuals. I believe every client deserves attentive, high‑quality support—no matter the size or complexity of their needs—and I approach every engagement with the mindset that no job is too big or too small when it comes to serving you well.
